Just returned from seeing the movie musical, “La La Land.” As I wrote on Facebook: “The ending of La La Land was like reliving Election Night. ‘This can’t be happening.’ But it totally was.”

Alice, however, summed it up best: We could use a feel-good movie in America these days and what we got was a fun, charming movie ruined by the same shitty ending TWICE!

Women were complaining about it in the bathroom afterward, my wife reports. Don’t Hollywood producers focus group this stuff?

The only lasting pleasure will be the years of complaining Alice and I will do about this flick. Small pain is pleasure, in retrospect. Then again, pain don’t hurt.
