Every advertising teacher and creative director tells their young copywriters and art directors that anything is possible with the right idea, talent and pure hustle. It always feels a bit wishful when I say it, but now, thankfully, I have undeniable proof.

Two film students from the Film Academy of Baden-Württemberg — Dorian Lebherz and Daniel Titz — made this film on spec for Johnnie Walker. For $9,000.

When I showed “Dear Brother” to my class last night, by the end some of my students were crying. And not out of jealousy.
